Film Night

Mon, 20.09.10 TBC

Where?

Please email Anuradha for details.

Our monthly Film Night has become one of BWN’s most popular evening activities.
By vote, we select an English language movie that shows as “original version” (i.e. that has not been dubbed into Spanish) at an easy-to-reach Barcelona theatre.
We typically shoot for an early evening start time, meeting c. 19:30-19:45 at the theatre so that everybody can individually buy her ticket before the show starts. Often, many of us join up for a drink or dinner afterwards. And the popcorn & shake during the movie are anyway optional!

Cost

Pay-your-own-ticket.

Welcome from the President

  • Are you about to move to Barcelona and want to learn more about the city?
  • Have you just arrived and would like to make friends or establish professional contacts?
  • Are you settling in and looking for support to help you get over the first hurdles?
  • Or, have you been here a while and want to share experiences with multicultural women?
  •

Members of the Barcelona Women's Network, an international women's club for expats and local women in Barcelona, Spain. The club is a member of FAWCO.If you answered “yes” to any of these questions, then you have come to the right place-- the Barcelona Women’s Network, or BWN for short.

What started in 1998 as a small group of twelve friends has by now grown into a formidable international network of over 250 members (and countingÂ…).

Forming a group of culturally curious women, we come from over 30 countries, have all kinds of backgrounds, and enjoy the most diverse set of interests you can imagine. But in spite (or because?) of all our differences, we all come together to have fun and do good. And above all, we all share a common love for the city and the world alike.

Barcelona is at once cosmopolitan and Catalan, modern and traditionalist, bohemian and bourgeois, international and local, personal and professional, and many things more. And so are we! Find out about us on this website or at one of our events. Alternatively, click here to Join Us.

Here is what some of our members say:

"I've only been a member a few months, but already feel completely connected to the BWN. Since I am new to Barcelona, it's been great to meet warm and interesting women with a wealth of experience. I feel like I have benefitted by being part of the group."- Diana

"The BWN has helped my business in many ways. Its members provide support and encouragement in tough times and some members are amongst my best customers. One member is a web designer, who is creating a website for me. Whatever you need, there is almost certain to be someone who can help." - Catherine

"Although I am half Catalan and have lived in this city most of my life, I do not cease to be surprised at the creativity; extent and variety of the activities which are organized by BWN bearing in mind the different needs and interests of its members.  As an example, I myself have had the opportunity of getting to know and to visit at their own homes some very well known artists who live in Catalunya. I personally very much value these most enriching experiences which BWN has made possible." - Vicky
