Who runs the BWN?

Sarah Barclay, PresidentI came to Barcelona in 2005 with my husband and two children. Like so many people who come here, we only planned to stay a year but we liked it so much we decided to stay. Barcelona is now as much a part of our lives as our home city of London, where I worked as a television reporter for the BBC. I joined the BWN as soon as I arrived in Barcelona and through it have made some wonderful friends. |

Florita Humphries, BWN TreasurerI was born in the Philippines, a twin and one of eleven children. I lived in Hong-Kong for nine years, where I met my British husband who was posted there. We moved back to England in 1986. I have two grown up daughters, both living in London. I moved to Barcelona three years ago when my husband retired. The BWN has given me the opportunity to meet new friends, time to socialize after working hard over the years and of course, to meet all my adopted grandchildren! |
Elena Balaguer, BWN Recording SecretaryI was born in Barcelona although I was practically raised in the Philippines within a family of politicians. I returned to Spain to study law at the University of Barcelona and I have been a practising lawyer for almost 10 years. I set up my own law firm in February 2006. |

Eileen Kershenbaum, Vice-PresidentJoining BWN has been one of my greatest decisions since moving to Barcelona last summer. Coming from the US, the BWN has given me the international flavor of not only Europe but the rest of the world as well. I also happen to have a wonderful husband, and darling daughter with me on this adventure. In my professional life, I am an Occupational Therapist, specializing in disorders of the upper extremity. |

Sanja Christie, Vice-PresidentI was born in Serbia, Belgrade but lived most of my adult life in London, UK. Moving to Barcelona in July 2007 was a big change for me, my husband and our daughter. Meeting so many lovely people via BWN was a life line which I am grateful for. I never thought that so many wonderful friendships with people of different origins and age could be made so quickly. A few years ago I left my professional life in banking to find enjoyment in passing my love for music and singing to children and newly discovered passion for interior design. |
