Denise Marmelstein is currently working as a private learning specialist and directing Education plus. Education plus is a diagnostic educational service for bilingual and multilingual students with learning difficulties or challenges. Based on student needs, Education plus provides comprehensive evaluation and diagnosis as well as individualized educational programs, time-management and test-taking strategy instruction. Services are also offered to support parents and teachers. At Educationplus, we are guided by a child-centered philosophy that emphasizes each student?s unique strengths and capacity for learning. Our primary goal is to create a positive learning environment for all students regardless of their challenges or differences ? to help students who learn differently excel. To accomplish this goal, Educationplus encourages and teaches students with an appreciation of their individual strengths and works to motivate students and guide them toward independence. Why and when I did start my business:
I have been involved in working with children who have learning difficulties my entire life. In New York, I worked both in the public and private schools and also on Diagnostic Evaluation committees. After re-locating to Spain 30 years ago and working at the American School of Barcelona setting up their first program for children who special needs, I then worked as a private educational consultant for various schools and education clinics and institutions. I have a passion for children and understanding each student?s learning differences and strongly believe that enabling a student to reach his/or her own maximum potential has a significantly positive impact not only on academic performance but more importantly in enhancing a greater sense of self esteem. After working as a teacher trainer for Harper Collins Publishers supporting educational programs in International Schools all over Europe, I decided to start my own private practice to be able to balance both professional and personal family life.

As a private learning Specialist and the Director of Education Plus, this educational institution serves the international community offering various educational and diagnostic services. These services are provided for students who demonstrate difficulties in learning which can include: Dyslexia, Dyscalculia, Dysgraphia, Attention Deficit, Hyperactivity, Sensory Dysfunctions and Developmental Delays. Educationplus specializes in bilingual education with students who have English as one of their primary languages.

Helping children learn and achieve and smile and see them happier than ever before. My greatest business achievements are when parents and children recognize my support and see great progress, and of course when I see my students achieve success!!
