Oranges Are Not The Only Fruit
Pomegranates are in season, and I have some crucial information to share with you.
I have spent my entire adult life getting my hands and nails stained brown (pomegranates contain tannins - also present in tea) painstakingly picking out the kernels with a small knife, breaking most of them and losing the precious juice, and trying to pull off the bits of clingy pith. Each one would take ages to do. Recently some one emailed me instructions on how to peel the things. I was messing around trying to upload the illustrations when I had a lightbulb moment. Happy cooking and eating! Valerie Collins is co-author, with Theresa O?Shea, of In The Garlic: Your Informative, Fun Guide to Spain.Comments

Gosh Valerie, thanks so much for sharing this video with us. To be honest, I never bought (from now on I shall buy) pomegranates, because I hated to peel them. I usually bought the trays where the kernels are nicely presented, all ready to be served, but of course, it is more expensive. Keep going with your interesting articles, Valerie.
