Agosto Spain is closed. Do not attempt to buy a house, get a new kitchen put in, renew your driving licence, make an insurance claim, see a doctor, give birth…

While 95 per cent of the population is on holiday, those who work in the tourist industry are busy "making their August", i.e. making a killing/bomb/packet.
